How many Lasius Niger workers should I have before I move them into my AC hybrid nest?

i think i heard about 50-100?

I need more accurate results please. I really don't want mold in the nest and these are lasius niger workers

how many workers do you have

(I don't know why it is important, I am planning for the future) I only have 5 workers currently but I am planning ahead

i just heard from another post from AntsDakota . She says Lasius can move into nests at about 20 workers or more. this cold take up to 6-10 weeks

They don't have to move into a formicarium for a very long time. You can just add test tubes if they need more space. My Lasius colonies have been fine without one for two years.

But with only 20 workers wouldn't they leave their excrement in the nest that causes mold?

i think even large colonies leave excrement in the nest here is an example from aus ants.
