that queen is a Camponotus sansabeanus is this a good set up ? a 5 watt heating pad is on the very fare side and the queen is in the back with her eggs she has 4 workers i put springtails in and they stopped moving i think they might be dead from the heat but i know that Camponotus sansabeanus ants love the heat so i know i need that right ? is the heating pad in the right place for this nest also is this a good starter nest ? (they was moved from the test tube as the workers pooped in the water i didint want it to mold)

I think you should put the heating pad on the nest side, but everything else seems good!loveants1341 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 29, 2022 12:01 amhttps://imgur.com/a/B4gbOgR

Why keep ants that aren't found in your yard?
There are so many fascinating ants right where you live!
I disagree with the keeping/buying of ants that aren't in your area.

Hmm, I don't know, I have always heard to put the heating pad on the nest side. I don't think you need to worry about the poop molding, but if you bought a lot of springtails you could try again.loveants1341 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 29, 2022 10:25 ami was told not to do that by a gan farmer ? but im not sure he is so flaky also he called my ant the wrong name before and told me wrong info alsoantperson24 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 29, 2022 8:05 amI think you should put the heating pad on the nest side, but everything else seems good!loveants1341 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 29, 2022 12:01 amhttps://imgur.com/a/B4gbOgR
