Hi there, I'm new to antkeeping.
I've started to make an outworld for my colony ant was wondering how to make the ant barrier.
What do you guys recommend I use?
I hear a lot of people using baby powder and 70% rubbing alcohol.
How do I make that? (Like amount of alcohol vs amount of powder)
And would it be safe to use handgel 70% alcohol instead of rubbing alcohol?
I couldn't find rubbing alcohol in my house so if not, i'd have to buy some.
Any alternatives I could do?
Many thanks.

Re: DIY ant barrier
I don't know if it has to be rubbing alcohol (I wouldn't try it), but I usually mix it half and half. An alterative is Vaseline but that does not work as well.TBreton wrote: ↑Sat Sep 17, 2022 8:19 amHi there, I'm new to antkeeping.

Why keep ants that aren't found in your yard?
There are so many fascinating ants right where you live!
I disagree with the keeping/buying of ants that aren't in your area.
