Hello, i have 12 workers of camponotus cruentatus now, so i want to move them into an nature looking formicarium. However i want to make it in an aquarium i bought, but the glue in the corners sticks out and i am afraid that the ants can walk over it because this glue isn't slipery like plastic and glass. I am afraid that if i use fluon for the sides they can stil climb up because of the glue
So can somebody help me with what i can do now?
like a roof over it or is it not a problem?

I would really appreciate it if someone helped me with this! :D

What size is the aquarium? It could be too large for the colony, resulting in their death…

I have got one which is 30cm by 20cm and 20 cm high and also 2 which are slightly bigger. Do you think it is a good idea to put them in an aquarium or should i wait till they are with more?

I would wait, just in case the population growth slows down too much. AC had a colony of Camponotus, which he moved in too early and they died.

How old is the colony now? I would wait at least for 100 workers and lots of brood.

You can make a nest yourself using ytong (also known as autoclaved aerated concrete AAC), plaster, cement. There are tons of tutorials on YouTube as to how to make them. I suggest a channel called AntsVienna who makes great nests(i made one using his tutorials and its great)
Ants I have-
camponotus compressus colony- the shadow warriors.
Pls just let me have a tetramorium colony

Great builds. When it comes to a terrarium you cena check out Jordan Deans turotial on an ant tank.
(AntsVienna doesn’t get enough recognition Ty for crediting)
