What type of soil works best in formicariums for Prenolepis imparis?
Can Organic Hydration potting soil like Pro Mix be used with the nutritional pellets for the plants removed? or should black earth be used? or should soil for my yard be used I'm kinda worried on that one because my city sprays pesticides in the park right across from my house. My species of ant is Prenolepis imparis and in their test tube set up they are displaying favor towards humid because they are constantly sitting on the Water cotton ball and have their eggs almost directly against it.

All soils should be fine but I would recommend the potting soil.
My current colonies:
-Miniature Military(formica neogagates)
-Black Hearts(crematogaster cerasi)
In search of new camponotus colony
[Have a look at antmaps.org]
