Ants suffocating?

I’ve moved my ants into a new plaster formicarium, and the next day, I saw a few dead.
I don’t know the exact cause but maybe they are trying to dig? I’m considering releasing them before they all die :( . Please help I don’t know what’s happening and what to do.

I think you should move them to a test tube.
They will have more air.
Just plug the opening of the test tube with cotton.
Why did I even make a signature if I am just gonna say this.
