I have a desert terrarium set up in an old fish tank and am wondering what ant species would be happy in it.
The tank has cacti, succulents and air plants. The substrate has activated charcoal, clay pellets, gravel. The dirt is equal parts sand, vermiculite and potting soil. The set up also has a large plant light to keep the plants healthy.
Is there a species that does not need to hibernate as I am not able to change the location of the set up.
I am in Alberta, Canada.
Thanks!

No species do not hibernate unless you live in the tropics

But you can keep basically any ant species in a desert environment, it doesn't really matter if what environment you use for ants
