Testtube Drying Out

Hello everyone,

I'm new to ant-keeping..

I've a Camponotus Pennsylvanicus with 7 pupa at the moment. I've read up on their species a bit. Will I need to rewater the cotton at the back of the tube (it's drying out) and feed them once they hatch? Should I wait until the little brood hatch or connect another tube to it now while it's easier to manage? I don't want anyone to die of thirst..

If the tube runs out of water before the workers hatch, tape another full test tube to it as gently as possible, the queen will hopefully move to the other tube, or just use the humidity from the other and not move. Once nanitics arrive you can give the a super small outworld or just feed them in the tube,
