Housing Question for Hibernation

Post: # 10770Post notmyidea

Hi all,

I have a small Formica sp. colony currently in a Formica Hybrid Nest. They've made it their own; they've blocked off some chambers with sand. There is only about 15 workers. My question is would it be better to move them back into a test tube setup for hibernation? Or should I just leave them in the hybrid nest. I understand the hybrid nest is harder to keep hydrated for hibernation.

Thanks, Jason

If you've already moved them, don't move them back. That'll stress them out, and could possibly even kill them.

Ya, that was what I was debating as well. Thanks for the input.
