Heating which side?

Hey ant crew,
So you have a new queen in a test tube and youre placing your heating cable on the test tube. Which side do you choose as in the side with the water or the side with the opening?
Let's all assume we're using AntsCanada test tube holder so it has a nice spot to stick the heating cable and a slightly tilted tube to avoid flooding as designed.
Would it just depend if you need more humidity? Is it simple as that? Anyone have a preference?

Thanks,
Just a curious observer of ants

Heating should be done on the dry side (open side) as water will expand on heating and cause minor flood. It will still cause stress for queen and lavaes and eggs will most probably die if the queen doesn't do anything
Ants I have-
camponotus compressus colony- the shadow warriors.
Pls just let me have a tetramorium colony
