Crematogaster Digging Medium?

Is there a particular digging medium preferred by Crematogaster species? Also, where would I get it? I assume just digging some dirt out of the backyard isn't a good idea. Would soil from a gardening center have pesticides?

Try buying soil for reptiles or pets, as it rarely contains pesticide. I do believe Crematogaster also is arboreal in some cases.
