Pheidole Sp. Habitat
So ive done some research, and species of pheidole live in harsh conditions like the Sonoran Desert, but at the same time they are living in my garden and my driveway pavement. So I made a all-in-one formicarium in a fish tank (60cm long x 35cm wide x 35cm tall).
with a obvious desert theme, with a layer of pebbles for drainage, a large layer of soil for them to house themselves in and a layer of sand on top with cacti and succulent vegetation.
I was wondering whether or not this is suitable for Pheidole Sp. to move into and if they would like the size?
Thank you in advance

Nice. I think they'll love it.

Now I am no expert but I suggest when moving them in to moisten the red sand so they can dig true it and not have the tunnels collapse.
But I am sure the ants will enjoy the setup.

I am coming to your house and stealing this. It is absolutely beautiful. Heck I'd live there let alone your ants. It looks very well done, loving the uneven landscape as I think that is people biggest mistake, it is just a gift to look at.
Personally I would have angled the wood in the right corner a bit downwards with more sand around it. Look like it could make an ideal nest entrance, but then again will the ants? Haha
I cannot wait to hear how your ants take to it

Research is important before during and even after you have established a colony. There is always time to learn and to listen to others experiences. Live by this and your ants will thrive. Fail to do so and your experience may be brief.
