need advice on how to move a queen out of a test tube.
The test tube setup is filled with an unsafe amount of mold. How do I safely move the queen and her brood?

If you have another test tube, what i have done is tape (small strip just to keep them together) a clean set up to the dirty one (after removing the cotton blocker). cover the new tube and expose the dirty one to light. Worked with one of my Formica, my camponotus however prefers the dirty tube and refuses to move into the dark and cleaner side so she has a nice long chamber

Thanks, I thought so but I was very worried to try the tape in case the ant got stuck to it somehow

Just make sure you press the tubes together while taping and you shouldn't have to worry about that. Even then my formica was able to walk across electrical tape easy enough....
