Funny you mention Termites, I went for a walk on the beach a few nights ago and they were flying everywhere! Nuptial time I guess.

BC, Canada. They love that moist rotten wood that washes up on shore!

Wow, keeping termites never even crossed my mind. I'm gonna stick with ants for a few years first but once I feel confident with that I may very well expand my horizons!

Would you guys mind sharing photos and updates of your colony progress? I would love to follow along!

To bad it's not like a normal formicarium where I could have a queen and grow a colony but still cool

You can just keep them at the normal outside temperature outside, mabey in a garage.
