Finding queens is very easy

1) queens will fly mainly after a rain

2) always keep your balcony lights on queens fly right in to your home

3) queens get attracted to light

4) even I am in south Asia and the most common gueen in solenopsis geminate that is fire ants in they fly year around.

Test tubes from Lake Charles Manufacturing are very very cheap. Get those if they can ship to your area. 16 x 150 mm tubes should be fine. I personally like glass ones better.

I would suggest finding the AntsCanada youtube channel. If you go back to years before, there are TONS of tutorials that have plenty of info to get you started.

Great advice, everything you need to know can be learned by watching the AntsCanada tutorials, Mikey's videos on finding queen ants will help you to identify them and when and how to look for them. Once you know what to look for and when to look you'll start to find them.

But I still feel it kind of "impossible" to get a queen ant. Actually I prefer solenopsis gemanata but any ants are acceptable.

1. The holes would not be standard(size)
2. The connection tubes might be too big or small
3. The holes might have jagged edges for ants to escape

I really really would like an ant farm. But I can't wait for queens to appear in front of me. It might be too long. I am too excited and can't start looking after an ant colony. I dtarted becoming interested after watching AntsCanada's video one day

The only out worlds that come with holes are the ones AntsCanada and Tarheel Ants sells, and those cost 50 - 100$. Anything else you'd have to drill holes yourself. It's not that hard. What you do is surround cotton where the tubing and holes meet so ants can't escape, then you tape down the cotton to keep the tubing in place. You have to drill the hole to the size of the diameter of the tubing, with the right drill bit.
