Do they have any brood in it?

They actually have brood but not in there it's still visible though because it's nesting on the side of the tank I put tape there they're just blocking up the water

Do you see any activity inside the tube?

No its where there water is they live in a 20 gallon aquarium tank full of dirt

But there is a lot of humidity in the tank because when the soil gets dry I wet it and they're up in a window so it evaporates the water and makes it humid in there which is good for the fire ants they thrive in that that's how they have so much brood right now

I just discovered some alates in my ant colony I was watering the soil I gave him a little too much water and they all started coming out including the alates

Well, I'm not sure. They might just want to feel more safe while drinking out of it.

Update: sadly over my vacation the ant barrier was worn out and my ant colony evacuated their terrarium and they are gone now. But on the bright side I captured a queen of the same species who has already laid eggs

Now i have a free terrarium already set up for the new colony
