I would love to keep Big Headed ants, but they don't live around here. :(
Why keep ants that aren't found in your yard?
There are so many fascinating ants right where you live!
I disagree with the keeping/buying of ants that aren't in your area.

I didn’t know AC had pheidole. The queens of pilifera are pretty big compared to other Pheidole. They are 7mm queens.

I thought he had S. Gemineta. I don’t watch anymore so if it is recent I wouldn’t know.

He had an older colony of Pheidole which lived on three pots of soil with plants (which he calls floating islands), one of them is a bonsai tree. It was quite some time ago when he first had that colony.

Recently he had a second colony of Pheidole which is Pheidole megacephala which is a huge colony with at least 100 queens which he almost decided to release.

He considered releasing megacephala? Why? They aren't anything close to native where he is and they cause so much environmental damage in Florida that they will even kill full grown Camponotus colonies.
