New Test Tube Design
I recently came up with a new test tube design for my queen ants. I use test tubes with a screw on cap or anything similar. I then cut off the bottom of the tube and use cotton to block it off. It is a regular set up. Only that I have made it easier to change for me, instead of moving my queen from test tube to test tube. I can now change the water and the cotton in the tube. Make sure not to through away the queens brood.

Re: New Test Tube Design
Not a bad idea.
I was thinking of doing the same thing but instead of using a test tube, I would just get a 1 inch diameter clear tubing so both ends are open and can be easily plugged.
I would also place a very fine steel mesh where the wet cotton would be so when you replace the cotton none of the brood can get stuck and the workers can't escape.
Update with a photo, I'm interested in how it goes for you.
