Tennessee Nuptial Flight Schedule.
So I’m curious if anyone in middle Tennessee, or the surrounding area, has had any luck finding queen ants. My friend sent me a video on their farm of Camponotus out mating. I have been looking for a week now and since it’s starting to warm up I feel the time is slowly approaching where queen ants will be easy to find. My question is has anyone caught any queens yet in Tennessee this year? If so what kind and how’d you find them? Normally I can walk on my driveway and they’re all over the place but these past 2 days I’ve come up empty. Is it because it’s just starting to get warmer and they take a few days to start their flights more often? This will be my second year looking so I don’t feel I can say I’m super experienced yet in knowing all the signs of their nuptial flights besides it’s got to be warm, after a rain storm, and the humidity has to be right.

Re: Tennessee Nuptial Flight Schedule.
Usually they do not have nuptial flights in winter. You will just have to wait.
My current colonies:
-Miniature Military(formica neogagates)
-Black Hearts(crematogaster cerasi)
In search of new camponotus colony
