\What if you got the pheromone used to signal ants found a good nest spot, and led it into your formicarium from an anthill, could you catch ants like that? Or maybe just stick your formicarium outside, lift up a rock, and hope they find it and move in? What I'm getting at is queen hunting takes a lot of time and is hard if you don't live near many sidewalks or fields.

I've tried this multiple times. The thing is, it's never worked, and I've been trying to since July.

It's almost impossible if the colony is content with their nest. In my opinion, it is much easier to just find a queen.
