Barriers not working!
I've tried vasaline and babypowder+rubbing alcohol. Nothing works for any of my ants!

Baby powder/rubbing alcohol is much less effective than plain baby powder applied with a dry cotton ball.

Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.

This can work for some species but I also find that when you do this, not only is this method prone to leave excess baby powder in the setup, when ants walk on it they often fall with a clump of it on them covering a part of their body with the barrier.idahoantgirl wrote: ↑Sun Aug 26, 2018 3:44 pmBaby powder/rubbing alcohol is much less effective than plain baby powder applied with a dry cotton ball.
Either than that I too use it for some larger sp.

Thats why its best to apply the barrier before the outworld is in use, and you apply it upside down.

True. I could see how it might be more of an issue in MI. ID is pretty dry.

not only that but in my ant setups some of them have soil that i like to keep moist and that will ruin the barriersidahoantgirl wrote: ↑Tue Aug 28, 2018 7:34 pmTrue. I could see how it might be more of an issue in MI. ID is pretty dry.
