Can I get an ID on this wasp?
I am pretty sure this is a wasp in the Mutillidae Family.
some sort of wingless wasp, I found crawling all over a Solenopsis nest looking for an opening ( I guess)
has anyone done any work in Hymenoptera outside of Formicidae?
If so do you have any Idea of a classification for this guy.
Also found in the same area, MASSES of hornets, wasps of all sizes and colors, Honey bees, and HUGE red dragonflies, all buzzing around ant nests, and the slow moving water in the ditch.

Can you get a pic from the top? But it appears to be a Red-Headed Timulla or the Eastern Velvet ant.
An ants' strength can be rivaled by few animals compared to relative body size.

Also it would help to know the types of wasps or hornets in your area.

I find those crawling all over! Glad to know what they are.

Definitely from the Red-Headed Timulla group.

Definately what I see crawling outside. (I wish I could find as many queens as fast as I find those! )
