Camponotus workers that harden inside their pupae?
My Camponotus pennsylvanicus workers always emerge as black, with their exoskeletons fully hardened. Why do I sometimes see Camponotus pennsylvanicus workers from other journals that emerge tan?
"God made every kind of wild beasts and every kind of livestock and every kind of creeping things;" (including ants) "and God saw that it was good." Genesis 1:25

Look at them in good lighting, sometimes they appear black in low lighting.
An ants' strength can be rivaled by few animals compared to relative body size.
