Myrmica colony not liking honey
I feed my Myrmica colony honey and most workers inspect it and decide that it's not worth sharing with the colony. I gave them brown sugar water and they don't like that either! What do I feed them?

Experiment with them. Myrmica are smaller ants and they might be finding the honey to thick. Try some honey water or hummingbird nectar. If those don’t (which I doubt they won’t) work maybe try fruit like apple, watermelon, or even banana.
An ants' strength can be rivaled by few animals compared to relative body size.

They may also just be at a stage of their development where they don’t need much food, or they are just eating when ur not watching

Also are you providing them with protein?

They don't have any larvae so I just feed them a fly every once and while, so the queen still keeps laying eggs.

Lasius ants love honey and the Myrmica species I have is many times larger than Lasius. They're almost as big or just as big as Formica, depending on the size of the Formica worker.TheRealAntMan wrote: ↑Fri Aug 03, 2018 8:16 pmExperiment with them. still, young colonies (80 is still very small) go through phases of not needing as much. I would keep on providing different sources of sugar and protein and don't worry. They aren't going to forget how to eat
