Help with hibernation!

I have to many ants, in to large of setups, to be able to fit them in a reasonable sized refrigerator. It gets below freezing in my garage, would I be able to put them out there as long as I slowly lower the temperature until then, or is below freezing to cold?
Why keep ants that aren't found in your yard?
There are so many fascinating ants right where you live!
I disagree with the keeping/buying of ants that aren't in your area.

Below freezing is too cold for a lot of ants. What I do is get Mega sized test tubes and move the colonies as a whole into them. You can also do a temporary tubs and tubes setup but allow workers to walk inbetween tubes, so don’t plug them in the box, just have a lid on the box.
When you accidentally reply to yourself…

Is there any way, you would suggest getting them to move into a test tube?
