Is it true that ants can't see red light?

If they can't, that means I can cover their formicariums with red plastic. I will be able to see them, but they won't be able to see me.

Covering nests with red is a common strategy employed by ant keepers to see the ants while not stressing them. I have heard of this
fact being used to peoples' advantages.

It’s a myth. Insects can’t see the color red. That fact Has nothing to do with tinting light “red”. The film you use to cover your ants just dulls the light so it’s not as bright for the ants. You could also use blue, green, orange, black, ect film that would have the exact same effect.

Red is the easiest to see through and disturbs then less(except for black)

Some species I hear can't see red as well such as lasius
keeper of
