i would keep them. they only grow into the hundreds. and the bigger they are the easier it would be to avoid getting stung. it would be a real fun experience i think.

R u talking about the red velvet ant or (cow killers is what we call them here in florida),cause if so i wish i could find some

Wow! An article I just read stated that if you cut them in half the head would fight the tail end of the ant for 30 minutes. That is some determination.

I would. They most likely would fit in a single hybrid nest. Their colonies do not get into the thousands.
