Tiny connection openings?

How does one connect tubing to the omni nests? I have a small for starters and a large vertical for when my colony gets larger, but both appear to have the same tiny openings (on the nest, which has an otherwise convenient door you can switch to open or closed, or on the outworld, which are plugged by little plastic plugs). They're way too small for the tubing. Even the tiny bit of tubing that came with the kits doesn't actually connect anything. I'd intended to use an AC outworld with the nest, because the weird plastic box of an outworld that came with the nests looks flimsy, but I have no idea how I'm to connect them. What am I missing here?

Try softening the tube by putting it in hot water then try connecting it. Are you sure you are connecting the tube to the right hole?

There's only two holes, the tiny one with the plastic plug on the "outworld" and the one at the very front of the nest.

yea I would definitely say to heat up the tube to get it soft then try to squeeze it through the hole. It will be a tight fit.
