you can use this for their sugar, but it is also good to switch around between different sugar foods. Your ants will also need protein. Mealworms and crickets are great. Buy em from the pet store and store them in a mason jar in the freezer. This will kill them and also make them solid enough to cut in half easily for your ants. No smell, no mess. Do not feed them insects from outside as they are often covered in pesticides that can kill your colony.
