Lasius sp probably neoniger. I’ll need to see the mandible teeth to identify correctly.
An ants' strength can be rivaled by few animals compared to relative body size.

Lasius americanus (formerly Lasius alienus) is the only Lasius sp. from the niger group flying in Eastern NA until mid August.
