So I found this insect in my backyard. I'm pretty sure its a carolina tiger beetle. I was wondering if they were bad for ants to eat because my parents won't let me buy feeder ants.

If your willing to risk introducing mites or other diseases to them go ahead I hate to say it but feeder insects would be much better however seeing your situation I don't think you have much of a choice just make sure to precrush any bug you catch to feed it to them and also give them some honey and sugar water aswell

Ok, but do you think that if I freeze or boil them it would get rid of any mites or diseases they will have?

I keep a solenopsis. I'm not sure where it originated from but its most likely and imported one because I'm in Texas.
