Hi guys I'm new to the forums and new to ant keeping :) just wondering where do you guys and gals order your test tubes from (I'll need some large ones I think) and I found my first queen the other day!!! Like I said I don't have any test tubes so I have her in a large (about a cereal bowl size) plexie glass container and I would like some help identifying her...I live in Oregon the Pacific northwest and I think she came from a very large ant colony they create large mounds from pine needles and other debris ( like 3 feet wide and a couple feet tall) the largest nest I've stumbled upon was the size of a small car)...so she is a large black ant that's about all I know i have lots of questions!!

You should take a picture. I just get my test tubes off ebay. Glass costs a little more, but it's worth it. AntsCanada sells them too.

Welcome!

I'm rather new here too. So take my advice with a grain of salt.

Out of frustration I ordered my tubes form amazon. The seemed to have an ok selection that seemed to work.

As for identification; antweb.org.

Under the "Bioregion" tab select "Nearctic" - that'll give you every ant species in North America.
