Best beginner ant species

I am thinking on having ants as pets...Can i get some advice on what are the easiest ant species to start?

To begin with get a common ant speicies from your area. This means if they die you can figure out what went wrong and try again. I live in the U.K. So I keep lasius niger as they are very common around where I live. It is a great way to decide your first colony.
