Heating pads

Just a thought-
I have had Camponotus Floridanus for the first time this year, and let me explain.
I had a queen with nantics, who always loved the tubing and would try to move into it. I heated them on my pads lowest temperature. Eventually, they moved in the aus ants 3d printed nest entrance, and I moved them out by heating and cleaned the new tube I wanted them to move into. I have been consistently heating them, and it has been 3 weeks since they spun the cocoon. Is the heat harming or helping? I did have a batch of fire ant queens that died from this hest(supposedly)(A few survived so this is a sort of guess). Should I continue heating them or stop? Also, according to several flordia antkeepers, this is a non-hibernating species, so please do not think I skipped hibernation.

If their nest is completely covered by heating pad then it maybe a problem. But if only some part is under the heat then you shouldn't worrytoo much as ants would just move away from heat if they want to

a heat gradient is essential. and a humidity gradient too

They had a formicarium away from heat, and they moved into the tube when I heated it. It is covering 75% of the bottom surface of the test tube.

I have a Camponotus novaeboracensis In a Tar Heal Ants Mini hearth And XL hearth. When I try heating them using a small reptile heating pad, the glass fogs up (I have a paper towel between the heating pad and the nest). Is there any way I can provide them heat without this happening?

Not really, I turn the heating pad off 30 minutes to an hour before I look at the nest.
