Queen in test tube eggs wont devlope Plz Help
Hello, I caught 3 lasius niger queen in the end of august, and they all only have larvae in the moment. I looked it up and it said that it normally take 10 weeks for lasius niger eggs to become a worker. Is the slow development a problem or is it normal? I also have a tiny bit of mold in the test tube, is this a problem? Please answer.

the mold is not a problem until it cover the cotton ball entirely as they deal with it in the wild also it could be that it is in a cooler place so the brood dont develop as fast try puting it it a slightly warmer room but i wouldnt do anything else good luck i am crossing my fingers for your colony best of wishes

Yeah... the only question I have is if the queens are all in one setup as they will eventually kill each other.

they are not polygenous (as far as i know) but i would definatley not do that because yes they will fight until is one left and even that one probs would be hurt i would not do it put them in separate containers and let them be

However, there is just one exception. The queens will NOT kill each other until the worker ants will come out. Its quality of one nest over quantity of ant nests.
