I found a colony and can't identify it.
So under a piece of wood in my backyard there is a large colony(2-3 years old) that consists of orange/golden ants and they smell weird?
The ants are about the size of USA Tetramoriums(what I consider the average ant size). They are not those citrus ants either, and I can't find any answers online or from my ant keeper brother. I plan on capturing them but I want to make sure the enclosure I prepared fits their needs. Any ideas?

Re: I need help identifying my queen ant
how many workers are there in the golden colony would be helpful to know for nest ideas as growth varies over time in different species.
