Hi to all ant keepers and experts!
Posting to seek help for my Polyrachis colony.
I acquired my colony 1 month ago through a loose leaf that fell from a tree and in it was 3 winged queens and a 30 workers along with alot of drones.
Placed them in a formi set up which they moved into.
(I know i should not feed them insects from outside but…)
After feeding them a few de-winged horse flys caught from wild.
2days later, a major die out occured.
Workers started to display a disoriented behavior followed by low levels of activity rather than the usual exploratory routine.
They would often fall from formica ceiling and wouldnt be able to recover from the supine position and if they do they seem to shiver and behave abnormaly and eventually repeat the cyle and curl up into a ball and die a few days or hours after.
Any experience similar to mine?
Ideas on what type of infection they got?
Open to suggestion on how to cure them.

Re: Polyrachis Help
It probably had some kind of pesticide on it. There is probably no way to cure it.p0lyrachis wrote: ↑Sat Jun 12, 2021 1:03 amHi to all ant keepers and experts!

Why keep ants that aren't found in your yard?
There are so many fascinating ants right where you live!
I disagree with the keeping/buying of ants that aren't in your area.
