Ant on back and looks sick

I have two queens I found this summer. Shortly after the first ants hatched, both had some of the new ants die. Right before they were on their back flailing their legs and appeared they were trying to get something off of them. Then a few weeks have gone by and now the same thing is happening. This time it appears the queen is trying to clean it?

hello this could be blood sucking mites killing the ants which may have come in one time to took the cotton out of the test tube I have not researched how to get rid of blood sucking mites but I did hear in one AntsCanada video that he fed lemons to the ants and got a different type of mite to eat the blood sucking ones if you want to know what blood sucking mites look like they are red and reealy small just a little bit wider than a average ants leg I hope this helped if it did not let me know and I will try look for something else that will help.
