Utah Ant Keepers, Help Requested!

For all of you experienced ant keepers, is there any hope for a queen ant without a middle leg?

I'm assuming I should keep her at about 75*F, yeah?

I've been out of town, but I'm returning today. I hope we didn't miss any of the tetramorium swarms! I'd really like to start with that species, rather than getting a local pogonomyrmex. Fully claustral seems like the way to go for beginners like me!

Fortunately I've found a second tetramorium queen today. I'll let you know here if both queens start laying.

By the by- what times of day are you finding the tetramorium queens?

I find most of them around 3-5PM mainly because that's when I get off work. Yesterday had a bit of a breeze and I caught 5 queens! Today only 1 without a breeze. Temperature is about 75-80*F last few days. I usually have the best luck in the semi-shady areas and I always walk around my local park. No sign of any other species yet.

The first queen I've found this season has already laid an egg!

May I ask which park? I'm near Ogden.

I have 10 queens. Let me know if you come up here and I'll give you one once they have a hatched worker.
