Where to find ants in Kentucky?

im fairly new to antkeeping and i have been looking for ants a lot but i never know where to look so if someone from around here could help it would be great.

You can find queens just about anywhere. Yet one of the best methods of searching is taking a walk the day or two after a rainstorm (which triggers their nuptial flights). Or, if you’re outside, you may find one unexpectedly. I even found a Camponotus cf. novaeboracensis (New York Carpenter Ant) in my basement! :?
