Hi, my friend and I are into ant keeping. Last day he caught 8 queens (I think its carpenter ants) and only has 2 test tubes. One is curently occupying on test tube so he put one carpenter ant in the one last test tube. Now he has 7 queens in a contaner (for now). But can they for a supper colony?
Thanks
-Jack

Camponotus are not polygynous, therefore these cannot be carpenter ants. They are almost an inch long. On the other hand, Formica are polygynous and are about 1/2 inch. I once mistook Formica for Camponotus as well.JackAntKeeper wrote: ↑Mon Oct 08, 2018 8:11 amHi, my friend and I are into ant keeping. "God made every kind of wild beasts and every kind of livestock and every kind of creeping things;" (including ants) "and God saw that it was good." Genesis 1:25
