Solenoposis invicta
I have seen a few solenoposis invicta that are about 1/4 inch long. Do they have major workers? I live in Jacksonville Florida and I'm not sure if they send alates out this late.

Hi, I know that solenopsis workers do vary somewhat in size, however I’m not sure if they are super obvious as majors like the carpenter ants. They do come in larger sizes though. Also, I live in southeast Louisiana and saw three queens last Saturday, so they are flying. We have a similar climate to Florida, so I’m sure they are still sending alates there!

Solenopsis geminata don't have super majors, just majors, which are about twice the size of the workers. I'm assuming Solenopsis invicta is similar.

The ones I seen didn't have wings or marks to look like they were queens, they were around alot of minor workers.

If they had large heads, they were majors. Queens of that species have smaller heads.
