hybrid nest question

Hi, I have a Camponotus pennsylvanicus colony with 13 workers. I have a couple of questions.

When putting together the hybrid nest should I clean it first (also with what) or can i just seal it and be good?

I've read that 10 to 20 workers is good enough to move in a nest. Is it safe to have them move in there or should i wait? I know Camponotus sp. are big so a test tube may get cramped fast.

Thank you
Keeper of Camponotus pennsylvanicus

nope, your hybrid is ready to be lived in :) Yeah your probably good to move them now since they are a large species. If you wanted to be super safe you could wait just so they are farther away from the founding stage.

Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.

I would wait, at least until more workers arrive, which would be after hibernation.

Or move them into an AC Omni nest verticle and only give them one floor.
