So, long story short. Im a definite beginner when it comes to ant keeping, however my Camponotus Penn Queen now has about 12-15 workers, I noticed that the cotton in their sugar water tube was starting to turn color, so I cleaned it and replaced it with water.
My question is, is it too early in colony developement to take their sleeve cover off of their current nest tube and trying to "convince" them to move to the new tube? (2 tubes connected by an A.C. Portal 2.0) or is my urge to make sure their living space is as clean for them as possible unrealistic? Help a Brotha out!
Thanks to all!

If you are only moving them into another test tube, it should be fine. You can move them into a formicarium once there are around 25 workers.
