Solenopsis

I just got a solenopsis Queen and she already has one worker.but when I try to expose her in light to give food then she immediately started to run like crazy and eat her own eggs.what should I do?????

This is why feeding ants in the tube is not recommended. It causes stress and mold outbreaks. Cover her tube so it's dark. Red photography paper is great. Take a one inch section of drinking straw and wedge it between the exit cotton and the side of the tube. This will act as a cozy tunnel for your ants. Then set the whole testube in a tupperware container (smooth rounded edges) with a barrier. Place food in the outworld. If they need food, the workers will forage. If not, then don't worry. They may not need it yet. Since your queen is stressed, try not to look at her for a week after you set up the outworld.

i think stress depend on situation,not specie
I'm saying that different species get stressed more than others in the same situation.

Camponotus is very susceptible to stress related issues, while other species like tetramorium and solenopsis more hardy.
