Can I feed spiders to my Lasius Niger colony? I cannot find the normal ant food in pet stores and I am not sure about the use of pesticides.

You can’t find mealworm crickets fruit flies or cockroaches anywhere?
Proverbs 6:6-8

Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.

It won't poison them or anything. But be prepared if they don't eat it, but they might love it, too. It depends on the species.

Ok, Thank you. And I did find cockroaches and crickets, but I am horrified by even the thought of them. I did not dare to even look at them for more than a few seconds with feeling uneasy.

i plan to use frozen maelworms and larvae which i buy in a bird-store. just de-frost them before serving.
i will have to find out if they like this food, since i only have ant since this summer and the first workers are just out-of-the eggs a week now.
