Re: Queen Ant's Eggs Took a Year to Hatch
It is normal for certain species to not hatch in the same year they were layed. This happens in some temperate species. I am not sure if it is normal for them to stop growing tho, especially if they are her first workers.

What species?
Proverbs 6:6-8
Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.
