i see a bunch of different formicariums designed for different species of ants.
how important is it to get the correct formicarium for the correct ant?
if i get a camponotus formicarium, and happen to get a lasius queen, is it really that bad.
or perhaps i hope for lasius, but get tetra...
.
is different formicarium that different?

I would just wait till you catch some queens The omni is well suited for multiple types of species. I imagine that many of the hybrids would be suitable for other species as well. I keep tetramorium in a Lasius nest.
Proverbs 6:6-8
Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.
