where I live Lasius fill the sky in there mating flight and hundreds of not thousands of seagull fly high up catching them on the wing, when and if it happens they wont be hard to find sit in your garden for a cup of tea couple times a day,

I live in the city and I find must of my Lasius in my backyard under pots, especially Lasius Niger. So Try looking under rocks and other objects. Well good luck finding them.
