Yes definitely Tetramorium. I should know. I've had a couple colonies of em. ;)

Here are some close ups of one of the Queens that didn't make it. Hopefully these pics will guarantee a positive ID.

Just a quick update. Four of the queens have their first set of workers. The rest are not too far behind.

That they do. I collected them 6/5/17 and have been keeping them at temps around 80 degrees. Now that they have their first workers I'll probably reduce the temp to 75 or a little lower. I don't want to move them out of the test tubes until next year so I'm hoping the reduced temps will slow them down enough before I induce hibernation in October. BTW if any ant lovers in Kentucky are interested in trading just message me. I'd really like to add Camponotus to my collection but I'm open to trade for anything other than Tetramorium caespitum, Aphaenogaster sp. or Solenopsis.

I have purchased a nice professional grade Terraria and am looking for a queen in Kentucky (I live in Louisville). I would like to obtain one from a responsible party and would like to avoid digging up my driveway and backyard and injuring a thriving colony trying to procure one. Thanks all! Very cool forum with incredible information.
